Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Horr has a unique and rich dual career in business and academia, with emphasis on consultancy for various organisations across GCC region. As a consultant, he covers a wide range of topics, from organisational development, to strategic planning and strategy implementation management.
Dr. Al-Horr started his professional career as a professor of Science Education at Qatar University, where he implemented curriculums and teaching strategies. He then attained the position as Assistant to Secretary of Planning and Curriculum Development at the Ministry of Education from 1999 to 2002. In this position, he led the development of the educational strategy, the initiative of establishing schools of the future and also served as a Board Member of Qatar University.
From 2003 to 2007, Dr. Al-Horr was the Director of the Arab Educational Training Center for GCC where he established and led the development of educational leaders, served as Chief Editor of 'Together we Learn' newsletter and was reporting directly to all Ministries of Education across GCC. Dr. Al-Horr then became Director of Corporate Development Bureau and Director of Aljazeera Media Training Center. In these positions, he helped establish and define the Vision, Mission and Corporate Values, developed the network strategy known as 'The Compass', enhanced HR and finance policies and procedures, and introduced the ERP system.
Dr. Al-Horr's published works include Leadership Toolkit, Strategic Planning Toolkit and Self-assessment Toolkit. His awards include the State Award in the field of Education (2005) and the Ali Bin Abdulla International Award (2003).
