Stephane has a unique and rich dual career in business and academia, with a strong Asian and emerging markets focus. French by birth, and a resident of Sydney, he has lived, worked and studied in South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Europe, the US and Pacific Islands.
Dividing his time across Australia and Asia, Stephane is the Managing Director of Ivest, an independent investment and corporate advisory firm he co-founded.
Ivest specialises in cross-border investments in Australia and South East Asia, in healthcare, education, consumer finance and insurance, food and agriculture, transportation and infrastructure.
An experienced investment and strategy leader with private equity, venture capital, investment banking, strategy consulting and corporate experience, he has worked in blue chip consulting firms and investment banks: McKinsey, Macquarie Bank, Lazard Frères.
He has led or taken a central role in over 30 private equity transactions. A proven entrepreneur, he co-founded an Australian based outsourcing company from start-up to trade sale with a 90% return to investors.
Stephane is an Adjunct Faculty at Australian Graduate School of Management, UNSW; an Honorary Fellow at Macquarie University and Tsinghua University, China. He has taught Private Equity, Venture Capital and Valuation and Financial Modelling to post-graduate students in Australia, Singapore, China PRC and Hong Kong. Stephane holds an MBA from the Wharton School.
A most memorable personal experience of Stephane’s is a conversation with Aung San Suu Kyi, Nobel Prize winner and Burmese Leader of the Opposition, at the World Economic Forum, on healthcare reform.
